U.S. & World History – Atlantis is an island mentioned within an allegory on the hubris of nations one of Plato’s works. Some recently discovered ancient writing sheds some light on why the legendary place eventually became submerged into the Atlantic Ocean. The brittle scrolls state that the advanced civilization allowed people from foreign countries to migrate there without enforcing any of the immigration laws. With the continual increased population making Atlantis heavier and heavier, it dropped below sea level until it eventually was covered with water, thus making it the first country to have sank-tuary cities.
