BREAKING NEWS – Denver, Colorado – A Colorado woman confronted Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke on his controversial proposal to go after high-powered weapons through a mandatory buyback program.
“I am here to say: Hell, no, you’re not,” Lauren Boebert told Beto O’Rourke, passionately defending her rights under the Second Amendment. “I have four children, I am 5-foot-0, 100 pounds, I cannot really defend myself with a fist. … I want to know how you’re going to legislate that because a criminal breaks the law, so all you’re going to do is restrict law-abiding citizens, like myself.” O’Rourke’s response drew overwhelming ridicule on the internet. “Well to be honest mam, you have to take responsibility for you own decisions,” he began. “At 5-foot-0, 100 pounds, you’re too small to be having children you can’t defend with bare knuckles. Or, you can use the numbers to your advantage, like in the NFL regarding gang tackling. Between the five of you, you should be able to pin down an intruder until the police arrives, while all of you doing the best you can to avoid any slashes assuming the assailant is carrying a knife. Or, collectively try to disarm him if he has a gun, and then threaten to fire it at him if he attempts to exit you home with any of your property that exceeds $1000.00, including the depreciation value.”
