BREAKING NEWS – Washington, D.C. – A 12-year-old boy was arrested in connection with an armed carjacking, stealing the vehicle from a woman in Washington, D.C., according to police.
Metro police said responding officers took the suspect into custody a short time later and discovered he was in possession of a firearm. Police identified the suspect as a 12-year-old in a news release afternoon.
The boy has been charged with armed carjacking and carrying a pistol without a license. In the body cam, he tried to talk his way out of his arrest.
“I know I don’t have a license to carry a gun, I only have a learner’s permit,” explained the boy.
“There is no such thing,” responded the cop. “But even if it were, you would have to have an adult with you to carry the gun.”
“There was an adult with me,” the boy answered back.
“Who?” the cop asked.
The boy smiled. “The lady I robbed.”
