BREAKING NEWS – Rock Island, Illinois – Deputies from the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois were able capture escaped prisoner Daniel Ethan Rice last Wednesday, with some rather unique assistance. Police said the escapee would have continued to elude them if not for a pack of coyotes. On Wednesday, the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from someone under a false name, according to The Muscatine Journal, and it was the 21-year-old inmate of Muscatine County Jail in Iowa. The fugitive described being chased by a pack of approximately 30 coyotes. The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office later issued a statement which read in part, “What those animals did was very impressive, since according to witnesses, the only tools those coyotes used to apprehend Rice, was a bunch of defective ACME products”.
