BREAKING NEWS – New York City, New York – The restructuring of Viacom has reached MTV and CMT, and layoffs are underway at the music networks. Viacom is in the process of combining two network groups Music and Entertainment into one under Doug Herzog, and there is an ongoing consolidation in a number of departments as part of that, including Production, Research and Digital. They blame the downsizing on millions of people no longer watching MTV, after realizing how stupid they were for becoming fans of “Jersey Shore”. Herzog did display some compassion, stating that one of his biggest concerns is eliminating jobs at CMT, explaining that it will be extremely difficult for southerners to gain new employment, since 75% of them don’t know how to read.
