Bowe Bergdahl walked away from his base in Afghanistan June 30, 2009, and by December of that same year, the president’s principal military adviser, then-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Admiral Mike Mullen, knew those details, according to three of Bergdahl’s platoon mates. The three men drew this conclusion on the fact that Mullen was aware that Bergdahl left all of his military equipment, signed a note confirming that he “quit”, and he went to the base Post Office to have all of his mail forwarded to the nearest terrorist training camp.
