BREAKING NEWS – Madison, Wisconsin – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association also directed schools to stop fans from chanting to avoid hurt feelings. The banned chants not only include booing, but also from saying “Air Ball,” “Season’s Over,” “Fundamentals,” “Scoreboard,” and “Over-Rated.” “Any action directed at opposing teams or their spectators with the intent to show they have a preferred winner, is no longer considered acceptable sportsmanship,” the WIAA wrote in an email obtained by the Post-Crescent. “Our objective should be to end sports bigotry and we should start by banning cheerleaders because they are notorious for promoting team bias. But most of all we should remove all scoreboards, so losing teams won’t feel inadequate in front of large crowds, and we’ll mail both sides the scoring results within 10 days.”
