BREAKING NEWS – Baltimore, Maryland – In a surprise move, civil rights activist DeRay Mckesson jumped into the already crowded contest for Baltimore mayor. “Baltimore is a city of promise and possibility,” he stated in a brief interview. “We can’t rely on traditional pathways to politics and the traditional politicians who walk those paths if we want transformational change.” Mckesson gained nationwide attention and a large Twitter following, during Black Lives Matter protests and rioting in Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore. He promised in his first campaign speech, “If I am elected and I see any blatant racial injustice, not only will I lead the charge in torching innocent businesses, I will make sure the flames are dancing so high, that I’ll challenge any preacher to tell the difference between this place and the biblical description of hell. As a community, I hope we can work together. If not, prepare to toast marshmallows.”
