BREAKING NEWS – Ashkelon, Israel – Harvard University archaeologist Lawrence Stager, has led the Leon Levy Expedition to Ashkelon excavating an ancient Philistine cemetery. Since 1985, he has clocked more than 30 years of excavations in a 150-acre site in the ancient seaport 35 miles south of Tel Aviv. Now, a major find related to the little-known Philistines, including one of the Hebrew Bible’s “most notorious villains,” Goliath, that according to the bible, was approximately 9’ 6″. Stager also said in the same cemetery, they located some ancient scrolls that mentioned Goliath, referring to him as a “gigantic warrior that was often seen purchasing shields and swords at a local ‘Big and Tall’ clothing store.
