BREAKING NEWS – Atlanta, Georgia – The New Georgia Project, which candidate for U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock was the chairman of for three years, was hit with liens for failing to pay unemployment taxes in three different quarters in 2018 while the now-Senate candidate was at the helm of the group.

The liens, which had not been canceled, totaled more than $7,800 combined. One lien was issued in February 2019 and encompassed the quarters ending on June 30, 2018 and Sept. 30, 2018. The other was issued in May 2019 and hit the group for not paying its unemployment taxes in the quarter ending Dec. 31, 2018.

Warnock responded to the allegation. “Ok, yeah, the New Georgia Project that I headed, didn’t pay unemployment taxes, and why should we? Pay taxes that helps people that aren’t working? What kind of sense does that make? I’m a democrat, and we always give government handouts, because that’s the way we roll. But I feel a private business that I run, shouldn’t feel compelled to help jobless people with jack squat, and I blame the former employees who were dumb enough to work for someone like me. Hopefully, they as well as I, can learn from this very important life lesson.”
