BREAKING NEWS – Washington, D.C. – Washington, D.C., police chief Robert Contee declared himself “mad as hell” as he vented about the city’s ineffective justice system and said violent criminals shouldn’t be “coddled.”
“I’m going to give it to you straight … The justice system that we have right now, it is not functioning the way that it should. The courts are not open. That is a fact. Barely open,” Contee said. “So cases from last year that happened during COVID of violent criminals that have not been disposed of, where do you think those individuals are? They’re in community.”
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded to Contee’s comments. “Of course those same criminals are in the community, does Contee want them to leave town?” asked Ocasio-Cortez. “If these criminals are in familiar territory, and they are used to assaulting and/or robbing people in an area that they uncomfortable in, why should the be uprooted? Them moving and being forced to rough up and steal from people that they don’t know, is unfair and uncaring to thugs that are struggling financially. Contee’s comment shows he has way too much compassion for the victims, and that makes me sick!”
