BREAKING NEWS – San Francisco, California – The flagship store AT&T operates in San Francisco will soon close.
Come the beginning of August, residents of the northern California city will see the store, located at 1 Powell Street in the downtown Union Square area, stop operating for good. The major wireless provider’s plans to do so were reported earlier by local outlets, citing the sustained dramatic rise in crime for their departure.
This is another tough blow for the city amid a string of big name departures including Amazon, CVS, Walgreens, Uniqlo, H&M, Abercrombie & Fitch, Saks Off Fifth Avenue, Gap, Crate and Barrel, and Nordstrom Rack.
Mayor London Breed publicly displayed her outrage that another business was leaving, and urged citizens to protest outside of any company that announces plans shut down. The flaw in the mayor’s logic, is the company that makes picket signs, closed down and left San Francisco two weeks ago.
