BREAKING NEWS – Seattle, Washington – Amazon has announced that television shows and movies on its Prime Video service will start including “limited advertisements” early next year in order for the company to “continue investing in compelling content and keep increasing that investment over a long period of time.”
“No action is required for Prime members. We’re not making changes in 2024 to the current price of Prime membership,” stated Amazon. “We will also offer a new ad-free option for an additional $2.99 per month for U.S. Prime members and will share pricing for other countries at a later date.”
The owner and founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos explained the reason for the new business model. “After going through a well-publicized divorce, I have had my financial struggles. My ex-wife took half, and now I’m done to my last $80 billion.”
