U.S. & World History – On June 15, 1752, Benjamin Franklin successfully drew an electric charge from a rain cloud using a key tied to a kite. Unfortunately, his next door neighbor who was also a scientist conducting a similar experiment that same night, was killed. He was last seen alive, walking outside in the storm, wearing his newly created lightening rod hat.
