U.S. & World History – The Stock Market Crash of 1929, began on October 24, 1929, and was the most catastrophic stock market crash in the history of the United States, when taking into consideration the full extent and duration of its aftereffects. The crash signaled the beginning of the 10-year Great Depression that affected all Western industrialized countries. On March 25, 1929, after the Federal Reserve warned of excessive speculation, a mini crash occurred as investors started to sell stocks at a rapid pace, exposing the market’s shaky foundation. Even though it will be remembered as the most devastating collapse in U.S. history, the Golden State Warriors performance in the 2016 NBA Finals is now considered a close second.
