BREAKING NEWS – New York City, New York – Brian Williams formally responds to reports that he has been suspended for six months without pay for his misrepresentation of events surrounding his coverage of the Iraq War. In a written statement he said in part, “People can believe whatever they want to. But I do not now, nor ever in the past worked for NBC. This is the only time I will respond to this unsubstantiated rumor, and I will continue doing my current weekly job of hosting “60 Minutes” and “20/20”.
