U.S. & World History – A little known fact is how a bicycle manufacturer got its name. As the nameless company was initially formed, the owner had a contest on who could give his corporation a title. A dozen people or so, were given the task as they sat at a table, while their friends and relatives sat nearby. The person who was the quietest and spoke very softly would be the champion. However, the company ended up getting its title from one of the relatives, after the owner of the bicycle company heard them whisper to one of the contestants that they thought was speaking too loudly, the encouraging words, “Shh, win”.
