Ask Blake Picture111

Dear Blake,

I am an accountant at a very large corporation, and I have a major crush on the receptionist here. She is so pretty, and she has no idea how I feel or how nervous she makes when I walk passed her desk each morning. I am really shy and I want to ask her out, but I get weak at the knees just thinking about it. Do you have any advice for me?

Dear Ed,

What you are going through is quite common , and is something that most people can relate too. Unfortunately, since receptionists from big companies are always gorgeous, it’s unlikely she’ll be attracted to a below average looking numbers crunching geek. If she was wise and did a little bit of research, she would quickly learn that accountants are almost usually strange people with shocking personal lives, no social skills, and relates best to calculators not humans. I’m assuming you’re a nice guy, and I think it would be improper for me to say something that will get your hopes up high, but instead you should accept the fact that the woman that caught your fancy will probably get physically ill at the thought of being seen with you in public. But all is not lost. I think you should focus your efforts at finding love in a small town in a rural community, where woman are typically have very low standards because of the few men they have to choose from. And most of these homely looking ladies there are so used to being hit on by snaggletooth farmhands that smell like a cow pasture, that there is a real possibility that even the likes of you might be viewed as step up… maybe. I hope this helps.
