Dear Blake,

October is always a very stressful month for me, because I have a cucurphobia (a fear of jack-o-lanterns). Those things are simply terrifying to me, and I have felt this way for as far back as I can remember. I’m afraid to walk down any street at night in October, due to my fear, but on November 1st I’m just fine. I feel awkward confessing this. Do you have any suggestions for my ongoing issue each autumn?

Dear Lynette,

You should not feel awkward because your fear is quite common. However if this has been going on your entire life, then someone or something is out to get you. Do you recall ever dating or having any friction between you and a snaggletooth guy that also has an extremely large head? I would suggest that you regularly watch “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” or the movie “Halloween” to figure out how defend yourself during the eminent attack. Be diligent! And don’t even open your door for trick-or-treaters unless these potential killers have a state sanctioned picture I.D. For your sake, I’ll be glad when November 1st rolls around. Not that you’ll be safe, but at least you’ll be relaxed and won’t see it coming when your life gets snuffed out by some murderous jack-o-lanterns, that decided to stick around for a couple of extra days. I hope this helps.

Blake
