Dear Blake,

I am a 47 year old very successful businessman that had open heart surgery a couple of months ago. Since then my health has been great. I feel like I’m 20! Here’s the issue. The person that performed the surgery was a beautiful woman. I think about her every day and I have even went up to the hospital just to look at her. I have fallen for her bigtime, even though we have never had a casual conversation. Should I send her flowers and ask her out? I just can’t seem to get her out of my mind.

Signed, William

Dear William,

First of all I am glad to see you have had a full recovery from your surgery with improved health. But I think you’d be a fool to get involved with a woman who is extremely skilled with sharp instruments. A lady who daily makes life or death choices should never be a person you want to share a house with. What happens if you get married, and she goes to bed angry with you? That common prayer with the line “If I should die before I wake” will have you sleeping with one eye open. Or she can keep you alive and simply remove the organs of her choice. However if she really means that much to you, then I would encourage you to actively pursue the relationship. But if you two start dating, I would also encourage you to end the courtship if you find out that she loves gloomy nights with lightening, and has countless books about Frankenstein. I hope this helps.
