Dear Blake,
A co-worker moved into my town about 18 months ago. Because we have the same schedule, he asked me for a ride to and from work one day. Well, now it seems that I drive him about three times a week.
When he works and I’m off, he takes an Uber, which costs around $25 round trip, but he has never even offered to buy me a cup of coffee. I stopped to buy gas one morning and mentioned I was only going to get $10 worth because it was all the cash I had. He didn’t even blink! My daughter says I should charge him a weekly amount or quit taking him. What do you think?

Dear Sheldon,
Either your co-worker is cheap, insensitive or both! So I would suggest you put him in a position where he would rather crawl to work rather than ride with you. Here are some ideas. Drive recklessly that’s borderline terrifying by ignoring all red lights, alleging that you recently became color blind, besides that, tell him your favor color is plaid. Or play some music extra loud that has offensive lyrics, and roll the windows down if you stop near a sidewalk where people are standing that would probably be offended and/or angry. Many versions of heavy metal or gangsta rap should easily be able to do the trick. Or, some people pull over and park when they have to text, but you should pull over every time you want to talk. Let your boss know that for a couple of days, you’ll be about an hour late, whereas your co-worker won’t have any excuse. And finally, try to rent a bicycle built for two, and let that be his ride. Also when you arrive at his house, sit in the back seat of bike, don’t pedal, and carry a whip to motivate him not to slow down until you two arrive at your place of employment. And if you think using a whip is too aggressive, instead in regular intervals, yell out the word “mush”. I hope this helps.
