BREAKING NEWS – Port-au-Prince, Haiti – Historians believe that they have identified the wreck of Christopher Columbus’ flagship, the Santa Maria, more than 520 years after it ran aground off the northern coast of Haiti, according to a published report. Researcher Barry Clifford told The Independent newspaper that entries in Columbus’ journal states the exact location where it ran aground, and that famous explorer was disappointed that he lost a bet with the Queen of Spain, that he could convince the gullible inhabitants of a nearby continent to name a holiday in his honor.
