BREAKING NEWS – Celoron, New York – A bronze sculpture of Lucille Ball needs a makeover, locals say. They may have loved “I Love Lucy” but many people in her New York hometown have no affection for her life-size statue in Memorial Park. Since the bronze sculpture was unveiled in 2009, the statue has been blasted by critics who say it bears little or no likeness to the popular 1950s sitcom actress and comedian. The sculptor stated that he will not make any changes, and acknowledges that his creation was a physical combination of his favorite two characters on the show, Lucy Ricardo and Fred Mertz.
