BREAKING NEWS – Nashville, Tennessee – A 29-year-old man armed with a hatchet, airsoft gun and pepper spray was killed by police after he sprayed the toxic irritant inside a movie theater, and then tried to escape out a back door. The man, identified as Vincente David Montano, originally had been thought to have a semi-automatic pistol when he fired at police responding to the scene. The ACLU is now accusing the Nashville police of overreacting for not conducting a more through investigation to determine if the airsoft gun that can be purchased at Toys “R” Us, was real. They went on to say that police should try to error on the side of caution, and if they cannot determine from a distance if a gun is real, they should not return fire to a person that may be using a fake gun, until an officer is hit, and his/her wounds are determined by a qualified medical staff that it was caused by real bullets. An attorney for the Monatano family who is now considering suing the Nashville Police also said, that Vincente mistakenly thought the pepper spray was a can of “Glade”, and he was spraying it in the theater because he hated the smell of popcorn.
