BREAKING NEWS – Washington, D.C. – Local sheriffs across America are voicing concern for the safety of the citizens they’ve sworn to protect after the biggest one-time release of federal inmates in U.S. history. The 6,112 inmates were released from federal prison at the beginning of November in response to a decision by the U.S. Sentencing Commission. The  U. S. Parole Commissioner J. Patricia Smoot stated, “We are not just releasing criminals without them being stringently screened for eligibility. To be set free, they would have to have gone at least 30 consecutive days without assaulting a guard, knifing an inmate, or having a hostile tone in their voice while openly complaining about the food.”
