BREAKING NEWS – New York City, New York – Gap ran an ad that caused an uproar because a white girl was leaning on an African American girl’s head. A previous ad with a taller African American girl leaning on the head of a shorter white girl didn’t conjure any backlash. Al Sharpton commented by saying, “Both ads are extremely racist! The one when the white girl is leaning on the black girl, is a subliminal message telling black people that pressure will always be applied to us to keep us down. And the picture with the black girl leaning on the white one is obviously saying, we can’t make it on our own unless Caucasians are supporting us. But the most offensive message in the ads, is both black girl’s T-shirts were made out of cotton!”
