BREAKING NEWS – Columbia, Missouri – University of Missouri graduate student Jonathan Butler grabbed national headlines last fall after embarking on a seven-day hunger strike that led to the ousting of the University of Missouri’s president and chancellor. Since then, he’s gone on a speaking tour, represented by celebrity talent booker All American Speakers. However, Heat Street’s review of Butler’s online presence in regards to him being a social-justice hero, has revealed that he’s chronically stolen items, denigrated low-income workers, and made troubling comments about women and drugs. He responded to the review at a press conference by saying, “Low income people usually aren’t smart enough to know that they have been insulted, so I don’t consider my comments about them to be problematic. As far as women and drugs, due to my newly acquired fame, I feel I have earned the right to use them both in any manor I see fit. And ‘yes’ I do chronically steal things, but it’s low level shoplifting from stores that can afford the loss, and never from random innocent strangers.”
