BREAKING NEWS – Jacksonville, Florida – U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown of Florida and her chief of staff have been charged with multiple fraud and other federal offenses in a grand jury indictment unsealed after a federal investigation into a fraudulent charity with ties to the congresswoman. Brown, a 69-year-old Democrat, appeared in federal court on charges of mail and wire fraud, conspiracy, obstruction and filing of false tax returns. Her attorney stated to the judge that due to her advanced age, it would be “cruel and unusual punishment”, to send her to prison. “My client will never be able to adjust to incarceration, and she should just be given probation if she promises to consider refraining from swindling municipalities.”
