BREAKING NEWS – Toronto, Canada – The hits keep coming for Hatchimals. Some parents are claiming the most-hyped toy of the season has a potty mouth. In videos posted on YouTube, the bird-like toys appear to say a vulgar phrase as they sleep. The news follows numerous complaints that they are failing to hatch. Hatchimals live in a plastic egg and “hatch” into interactive creatures that respond to touch. Parent company Spin Master says the toys make unintelligible noises and can repeat words or phrases that humans teach them and denied that the toys are swearing on their own. It noted Hatchimals make “unidentifiable noises while sleeping.” Some of the toy birds while still in the egg have been reportedly saying, “Be gentle when you open this egg you spoiled brat kid. Or I’ll grab a belt and beat you so viciously, that people will hear you screaming three counties away!” Spin Master responded by stating, “Many of the birds have been programmed to say that because it encourages the child not to be rough on the expensive toy, plus the threat doesn’t use any profanity.”
