BREAKING NEWS – New York City, New York – The parents of 25-year-old alleged NSA leaker Reality Winner spoke to Anderson Cooper, where they expressed shock that their daughter was arrested, but called her a “patriot” for purportedly passing highly classified information to the media. “A criminal complaint was filed in the Southern District of Georgia today charging Reality Leigh Winner, 25, a federal contractor from Augusta, Georgia, with removing classified material from a government facility and mailing it to a news outlet, in violation of 18 U.S.C. Section 793(e).” Her stepfather defended her when he stated, “She served her country, she is a veteran. She’s a patriot, and to see her maligned and slandered in the media is very disheartening.” When he was told by Cooper, that she is now demanding that her parents sell their home and empty their bank accounts so they can afford to get her a very good criminal lawyer or she’ll leak some of their embarrassing family secrets to the public, he then referred to his stepdaughter as a “lowdown treasonous traitor that should be sent to the gallows.” His wife then criticized her husband, accusing him of suggesting a form of punishment that she felt was “way too mild.”
