BREAKING NEWS – Hangzhou, China – LiAngelo Ball, brother of Los Angeles Lakers’ star point guard Lonzo Ball and son of the outspoken LaVar Ball, was one of three UCLA freshman basketball players arrested on after allegedly stealing from a Louis Vuitton store. Ball was arrested with teammates Cody Riley and Jalen Hill. They are being questioned by police for allegedly shoplifting from the store next to their hotel. In a joint letter written by all three players read in part, “We apologize for our actions, because we were unaware of the level of store security when we tried to remove the items.” Lonzo Ball’s father LaVar Ball took a more accusatory tone as he directed his anger toward China. “There is no excuse for the way they are treating my son,” he began. “It has been a long standing tradition in our country not to traumatize potential sports superstars, no matter how roguish they are!”
