BREAKING NEWS – Lansing, Michigan – Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) issued a statement denying allegations that he fired a female employee after she refused to “succumb” to his “sexual advances.” The woman ultimately signed a confidentiality agreement in exchange for a settlement of $27,111.75, which came from Conyers’ office budget. Conyers admitted no fault as part of the settlement, and in the statement he said: “In this case, I expressly and vehemently denied the allegations made against me, and continue to do so.” When asked for his motive for paying the woman $27,111.75, Conyers responded, “Not one penny of that came out of my salary, the funds came out of the annual budget from my office, that I authorized. So the finger should be pointed at the federal government/tax payers, because they were the ones that foolishly indirectly paid her off, not me.”
