BREAKING NEWS – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – The $400,000 raised through a GoFundMe account to support a homeless veteran after he gave his last bit of money to help a stranded motorist is reportedly drained. A lawyer representing Johnny Bobbitt, whose story garnered national attention last year after he gave Kate McClure his last $20 to fill up her gas tank, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that news of the depleted account “came as a complete surprise.” Bobbitt, who questions McLure and her boyfriend Mark D’Amico motives, fears they may have squandered the money, claims they used the funds to buy a new BMW and take lavish vacations. She responded to his accusation on “Megyn Kelly Today”. “Yes we bought a brand new BMW with the money. That’s because we live in New Jersey, and we needed a reliable car to drive back and forth so we could check on how Mr. Bobbitt was doing. Yes, we went on lavish vacations, but we considered it research, because we were going around the world to see how homeless people were surviving, and then relay the information to Mr. Bobbitt. Personally, I think he is an ingrate. We gave him $25,000 of his money, and he squandered it within a week. The car is mine, and the DMV can confirm that the title is in my name no matter who paid for it, that’s the law. And my boyfriend and I wanted to send Mr. Bobbitt a selfie from one of the tropical beaches where were conducted our ‘homeless research’ to give him an update, but unfortunately Mr. Bobbitt does not have a cell phone.”
