BREAKING NEWS – Chicago, Illinois – Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx described “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett as a “washed up celeb who lied to cops” in texts messages released by her office in response to a public-records request by the Chicago Tribune. Smollett, had been indicted on 16 counts of disorderly conduct on suspicion that he staged a hate crime attack on himself. Foxx’s office eventually dropped the charges, creating a firestorm of protest from local officials. He responded to Foxx’s emails in a tweet. “So I’m a ‘washed up celeb’ in your view,” he began. “What about you Foxx? You and the whole world knew I orchestrated the entire hoax… and still I walked. I may not be the only one with a ‘washed up career’. Right now, you couldn’t even be an extra attorney on ‘Law & Order’, with no lines. And in regards to that $130,000 Chicago is suing me for, when all of the facts come out on how easily I beat this rap, I think your city will agree that you and I should go halfsies.”
