BREAKING NEWS – Los Angeles, California – Infectious diseases—some that ravaged populations in the Middle Ages, are resurging in the City of Angels, and are hitting homeless populations especially hard. The outbreaks in L.A. are diseases spread by infected fleas on rats and other animals in downtown streets. Officials briefly closed part of City Hall after reporting that rodents had invaded the building. However, everyone doesn’t agree that it’s as bad as being reported. “There is no rampant disease out here! This is a manufactured crisis,” said a homeless woman named Mary Typhoid.
