BREAKING NEWS – Des Moines, Iowa – Sen. Cory Booker’s presidential campaign manager is warning in a memo to staff that the Democratic senator from New Jersey must raise an additional $1.7 million by the end of the third quarter of fundraising – just 10 days away – or the campaign will not have a “legitimate long-term path forward.” In the memo, campaign manager Addisu Demissie warned that following a weaker than expected cash haul during the early part of September, “the next 10 days will determine whether Cory Booker can stay in this race.” Booker claimed he had something akin to an “I am Spartacus” moment during the  hearings for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, which is a famous line from a 1960 film starring Kirk Douglas. He decided to use a similar tactic referencing three Clint Eastwood movies to inspire people to donate. At a town hall meeting he stated, “My campaign is really strapped for cash. When I first announced I was running for the White House, I need ‘A Fist Full of Dollars’, and now I’m begging for a ‘Few Dollars More’. Because if I don’t get some cash soon, instead of being driven around in a limousine, I may have to use a ‘Gran Torino’.”
