BREAKING NEWS – New York City, New York – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., condemned the use of three JetBlue aircraft that flew over New York City as a tribute to the medical community and first responders working on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
JetBlue used three planes donned with New York City themes for a one-hour flyover over all five boroughs. The planes — “I love NY,” NYPD and FDNY — were a tribute to first responders and “hometown health care heroes,” the airline said.
“Nothing like a corporate PR campaign that burns jet fuel at low altitudes over vulnerable communities dying from a respiratory virus that compounds on our preexisting and disproportionate exposure to air pollution to show healthcare workers we care,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “And secondly, I have a problem with JetBlue motivating first responders and hometown health care heroes to continue to save lives. The more people that dies from the disease, the more we can blame President Trump, which will make it more likely he won’t win a second term. I feel that no scientist that’s also a democrat, should assist in finding a cure for the corona virus until after the election in November at the earliest, or if President Trump gets reelected, they should wait until autumn of 2024. A true socialist as I am, knows the importance of this sacrifice.”
