BREAKING NEWS – New York City, New York – HBO Max pulled the Oscar-winning Civil War epic “Gone With the Wind” from its library amid heightened racial tensions.

ScreenRant and The Wall Street Journal were the first to report that the newly-launched streaming service yanked the 1939 film, which takes place at an Atlanta plantation. Critics in the modern era have criticized “Gone With the Wind” for its depiction of black people.

HBO Max, announced in a written statement, “Out of concerns for the current climate of hyper sensitive race relations, we will only air colorized films and no longer air any ‘black and white’ movies, or movies where cops appear to be the good guys. We are also encouraging concession stands at theaters nationwide, that when they sell chocolate and vanilla ice cream, to automatically sprinkle it with pecans to remind the customers that there are plenty of nuts on both sides.”
