BREAKING NEWS – Portland, Oregon – At least 15 people were killed in Portland during the month of July, which was the highest number of deadly shootings or stabbings in a single month since the 1980s, according to authorities.

Police Chief Chuck Lovell addressed last month’s violence which following a 150-round shooting at an apartment building in the city. So far this year, 24 people in Portland have died in homicides.

“That’s very concerning to know that that many people have been killed in such a short period of time,” Lovell said, according to Portland’s KATU. “These numbers were not acceptable.”

Congressman Jerry Nadler disagreed with Lovell’s numbers. “Plain and simple, I think he’s wrong,” he began. “Portland is a beautiful place to live, and I don’t believe 15 people were murdered in that city, it’s just a tactic that cops use to avoid getting defunded. Who’s to say that those alleged homicides weren’t suicides? A person could’ve been attempting to take their own life when their gun off, and accidentally killed someone nearby… that they didn’t particular like. Or, a person could’ve tried put a knife in their own heart, and while trying to do it, the knife could slip out of their hands and repeatedly stabbed someone else. And since the coroners works with the cops, you can trust them because it’s likely they’ll come up with some ridiculous idiotic conclusions.”
