BREAKING NEWS – Detroit, Michigan – Michigan Democratic State Rep. Cynthia Johnson was stripped of her committee assignments on Wednesday after threatening Trump supporters in a Facebook video.
In a Facebook video Tuesday, Johnson said, “So this is just a warning to you Trumpers. Be careful, walk lightly, we ain’t playing with you. Enough of the shenanigans. Enough is enough. And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right, be in order, make them pay.”
The Speaker of the Michigan House Lee Chatfield released a statement, explaining that Johnson had been removed from her committees and that there is an active investigation going on to determine if further action is necessary.
“Threats to Democrats or Republicans are unacceptable and un-American. They’re even more unbecoming of an elected official. Rep. CA Johnson has been stripped of her committees and we’re looking into further disciplinary action as the proper authorities conduct their investigation,” Chatfield said in a statement on Twitter.
Johnson responded to the disciplinary action against her. “This is not fair! This is not right!” she began. “Making murderous threats and carrying them out, is a way of life here in Detroit. That’s our culture, that’s how we roll. So I don’t understand why I am being penalized for embracing a well establish tradition in this proud and extremely raggedy city.”
