BREAKING NEWS – South Bend, Indiana – A group of students and faculty at an elite Catholic university say they don’t want Chick-fil-A to open a restaurant on their Indiana campus because of the restaurant chain’s frequent donations to Christian groups.
Roughly 180 University of Notre Dame students and faculty have signed an open letter calling on the school’s Campus Dining division to nix the proposed new shop.
“We are Catholics, not Christians, we are liberal, not conservative, we believe in the bible up to the point where Jesus and God crosses a line with their unreasonable standards,” the letter began. “Chick-fil-A has a history of donating to Christians causes and contributing to ministries. We at this university have long abandoned the archaic belief of moral absolutes, and we don’t believe that a person that lived 2000 years could understand today’s society without a college degree or access to the internet. And we still don’t understand why Chick-fil-A won’t open up on Sundays, considering the fact the bible never mentions anything about fast food.”
