BREAKING NEWS – London, England – Anti-wrinkle and filler injections are being banned for beauty consumers who are under the age of 18 in the U.K.

The age restriction for the two cosmetic procedures reportedly comes at a time when tens of thousands of teens have undergone treatments to smooth or plump their features, according to the Daily Mail and The Sun.

Starting on Oct. 1, it will become illegal for certified injectors to administer cosmetic muscle paralyzers or fillers on patients who are under 18.

Nadine Dorries – the minister of state at the Department of Health and Social Care – reportedly voiced her support for the regulation in a statement she provided to the Daily Mail.

“We already know that 90% of the residents here in Great Britain have bad teeth, due to our country having one dentist per ten million people,” explained Dorries. “It usually takes about 25 years before a person can determine how ugly they’ll probably be when they become a senior citizen. So injecting botox might give them a false reading at 18, thus when they are around 25, they won’t know for sure if they’ll age gracefully, or will eventually have ‘monster-like’ facial features.”
