BREAKING NEWS – New York City, New York – “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg has been suspended following her controversial remarks about the Holocaust.
“Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments,” ABC News president Kim Godwin said in a statement. “While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments.”
“The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends and communities,” Godwin added.
Goldberg went viral when she argued that the Holocaust “isn’t about race,” stunning her colleagues at the table.
“I am really in shock,” the View co-host stated. “I legally changed my last name to ‘Goldberg’, and with a name like that, I assumed I could say anything about Jews, because I’m sorta one of them. But now I see I can’t trust my own people… or something like that.”
