BREAKING NEWS – Washington, D.C. – Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., sent a letter to Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra expressing her “grave concerns” about the department’s program that could reportedly use taxpayer money to distribute crack pipes to drug addicts.
“Government-funded drug paraphernalia is a slap in the face to the communities and first responders fighting against drugs flowing into our country from a wide-open southern border,” Blackburn wrote. “If this is the president’s plan to address drug abuse, our nation is in serious trouble.”
President Biden responded to Blackburn’s concern in a tweet. “I feel Senator Blackburn’s position is insensitive,” he began. “I have heard about thousand of drug addicts getting mouth injuries due to using substandard crackpipes. I propose that the government oversee, if not manufacture crackpipes that meets certain safety standards. I am creating a panel made up of people that have plenty of personal experience in this area, which will include gangsta rappers, heavy metal musicians, and my son Hunter.”
