BREAKING NEWS – New Orleans, Louisiana – The only federal Democratic candidate backed by the Black Lives Matter PAC this election cycle is now facing a wire fraud charge for routing campaign and party funds to outside individuals and companies, and using the money on personal expenses, including gambling.
Karen Carter Peterson, a former Louisiana state senator and congressional candidate, is charged with diverting the funds for personal use. She resigned from the state senate in April, citing her mental health and gambling addiction.
“Everything that you have heard about me in the news is true regarding my mental health and gambling addiction,” she said at a press conference in a humble tone. “I would go to casinos using money that I had stolen, confirms that I had a serious gambling problem. And because I believed that me using the money at a Louisiana casino was stimulating our economy, proves that I am certifiably nuts.”
