BREAKING NEWS – Washington, D.C. – Vice President Kamala Harris dodged a question asking her if she could explain what she meant when stating that the Biden administration would take “equity” into account when disbursing natural disaster relief.
“It is our lowest-income communities and our communities of color that are most impacted by these extreme conditions,” Harris said. “We have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity. Due to the policies of Governor DeSantis, 90% of the people of color in his state lives in shacks, and 95% of the white people live in large beautiful homes. So when the wind whips up, these shacks that are primarily made out of old boards, are blown down the road a lot farther than the few shingles from the roofs of well built white owned plantations.”
