BREAKING NEWS – Hollywood, California – Actress Michelle Yeoh took an apparent jab at CNN host Don Lemon after she accepted the first Academy Award in her career for best actress.
Yeoh made history as the first Asian person to win as lead actress for the popular film “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”
“For all the little girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities,” Yeoh said as she accepted the award. “This is proof that dreams do come true. And women, don’t let anybody tell you you’re ever past your prime. Never give up.”
Lemon made it clear on his show that he was offended by her comment. “Who does she think she is?” he angrily began. “And why are Asians winning American awards? First of all, she took what I said out of context, because I have no idea when women in Asia are past their prime, but I believe the number is lower out there than in the United States. And secondly, she gave false hopes to women about never giving up, such as homeless wild-haired bag ladies!”
