BREAKING NEWS – Chicago, Illinois – McDonald’s Corp is temporarily closing its U.S. offices this week as it prepares to inform corporate employees about layoffs undertaken by the fast food giant as part of a broader company restructuring, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The company is temporarily closing its U.S. offices this week as it prepares to inform corporate employees about layoffs undertaken by the fast food giant as part of broader restructuring, the Wall Street Journal reported.

McDonald’s said in an internal email last week to U.S. employees and some international staff that they should work from home from, so it can deliver staffing decisions virtually. According to a source at the company, this particular determination was made for two reasons. The first one is to avoid having to see individual executives that make in the upper six figures, have an emotional breakdown after being told in person that will be given the boot. And the second reason is, to avoid seeing the tears from those same executives after being told that if they want to remain employed at McDonald’s, they will have to take a drastic salary cut along with being trained on how to take orders at drive-up windows.
