BREAKING NEWS – Boston, Massachusetts – Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey has activated 250 members of the National Guard to provide basic services at emergency shelter hotels amid an influx of migrants that has service providers stretched thin.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey has activated 250 members of the National Guard to provide basic services at emergency shelter hotels amid an influx of migrants that has service providers stretched thin.

The move comes after she declared a state of emergency this month over the increasing number of migrants arriving in Massachusetts from Texas. Currently, there are more than 6,000 migrant families in emergency shelters across the state.

“I do have a back-up plan,” stated Healey at a press conference. “If the migrants continue to flood in, we’ll let them live on the court where the Celtics play. And I have no doubt that all of our players are good enough to easily dribble a basketball around a bunch of cots.”
