BREAKING NEWS – Chicago, Illinois – First, McDonald’s discontinued its McCafé Bakery. Now, the fast-food giant is putting an end to self-serve drinks.
Over the next 10 years, McDonald’s will remove the self-serve beverage stations that have been a staple of their dining rooms since 2004. Customers will have to get their refills from servers at the counter.
The main reason why the fast food giant is phasing out self-serve beverage stations, is because of the refill abuse. They have seen people refill, literally with buckets. And one customer was so bold that he hooked a hose up to one of the refreshment stations, and the other end was extended to a barrel in the back of his pick-up truck.
